In accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08 and the State-Regions Agreement of 21 December 2011 and 25 July 2012, the University of Parma provides training to all workers on health and safety in the workplace, therefore including students who use the laboratories.

In addition to the health and safety training already provided as part of individual degree courses, the Health and Safety Course for Students is available, delivered via e-learning.

ACCESS TO THE COURSE: Users may complete the course independently by accessing the link above using their University login details.

DEADLINE FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE: The course MUST be completed BEFORE accessing the laboratories. The deadline is set and will be communicated by each Department depending on the specific organization of the courses and the start of teaching activities in the laboratory.

SAFETY COURSE ECTS CREDITS (1 ECTS)

For degree courses only:

-Biotechnologies
-Biology
-Chemistry
-Natural and environmental sciences (only for students enrolled up to the 2024–25 academic year)

1 credit will be awarded, which will be automatically validated by the departmental safety tutors, Caterina Agrimonti, without the need to submit the certificates obtained.

The names of students who have completed the training programme are submitted in three annual batches (February, June, September); however, if a student requires urgent validation, they must contact their designated tutor.

The courses have been updated to comply with recent legislation on safety training and are available in both Italian and English.

Following the update, the course structure has been revised and is now divided into two modules:

  • General Training Module, lasting 4 hours;
  • Specific Training Module – Advanced Course, lasting 12 hours.

As in previous years, in order to receive credit points (CFU) – applicable only to degree courses in Biology, Biotechnologies and Chemistry – and to attend the laboratory sessions, it is necessary to attend both modules.

Please note that those who completed the entire training cycle (Modules 1–2–3) prior to the introduction of the new training regulations do not need to undertake any additional courses. However, for those who still need to complete their training, only the Module 1 course, undertaken via the old portal, will be considered valid, and they will only need to complete the new ‘Specific Training – Laboratory Activities’ module (12 hours).
